§ 2.40.020. Filing fee for candidates

Pursuant to California Election Code section 22843 the city council does determine that the sum of $25.00 is proportionate to the cost of processing a candidate's nomination papers. The sum of $25.00 is set as the filing fee for nomination papers for elective offices of the city, which shall be paid at the time of the filing of nomination papers. The fee shall not be refunded in the event the candidate fails to qualify.
