§ 5.16.080. Removal and quarantine

  • The board of health is hereby authorized and empowered to remove or cause to be removed any person or persons afflicted with small pox, cholera, yellow fever, bubonic plague, typhus fever or any other contagious, communicable or infectious disease residing in, or being found in houses, places or districts within the city to such hospital as said board of health may designate; provided that no action looking towards to removal of any person afflicted with any of the above mentioned diseases shall be taken by said board of health until after a due and satisfactory investigation made personally by it.

    The board of health of the city is hereby authorized and empowered to quarantine persons, houses, places and districts within the city when in its judgment it is deemed necessary to prevent the spreading of contagious, communicable or infectious diseases.
