§ 6.20.030. Permit—Issuance

  • Any person desiring to do any act for which a permit from the city council is required under section 6.20.010 of this chapter shall file a written application therefor with the city clerk. The city clerk shall refer said application to an officer of the city for investigation as follows:

    In the case of shooting galleries and gun clubs, said application shall be referred to the police chief; in the case of the use of explosives, said application shall be referred to the building inspector; and in all other instances, said application shall be referred to the fire chief.

    The officer to whom the application has been referred shall make an investigation and shall submit a report of his findings and recommendation for or against the issuance of the permit, together with his reasons therefor, to the city council. The city council shall, in its discretion, grant or deny the application subject to such reasonable conditions, if any, as it may prescribe.
